This video work is influenced by a movie called ‘Red desert’. Female character of this movie always seems lonely even though she is always with others.
Soyeon focused on the emotion of the female character who can’t go along with others and developed it into her video work. This vieo work got a prize from competition of Paris Cinematech and exhibited from april till july at the Paris Cinematech hall.

미켈란젤로 안토니오니의 붉은사막이라는 영화에서 영감을받고 작업을 시작하였다. 여자주인공으로 등장하는 모니가비티Monica Vitti는 늘 사람들사이에 둘러 함께 있지만 정신적으로 외로운 감정을 영화에서는 잘 표현해 준다. 그것은 건물의 웅장함 또는 영화에 주로 등장되는 색으로도 전해진다. 나는 이런한 감정을 발전시켰다.내가 타지에서 느끼는 감정이 그녀와 비슷하다는 생각도 들었다.

 나의 비디오에서의 한 여자는 건물들 사이를 돌아다닌다. 차갑고 직선적인 건물들은 현대의 사람들에게서 느낀 비슷한 감정을 준다, 많은 사람들과 늘 마주하지만 소통이 존재하지 않으면 어떤 사막과도 같은 사회. 같은 공간안에 함께 하고 있어도 이방인이 될 수 있다. 우리는 그녀의 시선과 발소리를 따라 주변을 관찰해 본다.
